My latest, and biggest, art project is the painting of my queen-size head board. Her name is Iradoa. Say hello:
She is irrevocably boring in this sad state, of which she has cried at night and disturbed my sleep. It was time I finally did something to redeem her from her sallowness. Here I have already sanded down the finished wood surface. She will soon be happy and unique. My tools are these:
Black acrylic paint for wood and such, some big foamy brushes, smaller brush for details, metallic blue, green and purple paint, a silver paint pen, shatterable mirrors, and Hobby Lobby bags. Just kidding about that last one. They just edged their way into the picture, which I did not feel necessary in editing out. Ha.
Oh yeah...and see that sunlight? Yeah...it was shining (I mean, of all the annoying things it could do), and it was hot. So I quickly did this:
Now she has her first two coats of black. Yay! Hopefully soon I shall be able to finish. I will wait until it is evening or morning...and not blistering hot. Thank you.
Someone joined me and watched me paint, continuously making me laugh.
My plans are cute detail work with the colored paints around the edges and stuff...but the kicker is going to be the mirror mosaic in the two middle rectangles. I might throw in some colored glass in the event that I can find some. More updates soon!
